Dutch Passion’s Desfrán

Dutch Passion Breeders' Desfrán is a powerful Sativa with a unique aroma and taste. Its terpene profile gives it a fruity-sweet flavour that is unlike any other. Desfrán's aroma is reminiscent of pear and green apple. You will feel as if your growing area is an orchard. Sweet and fruity notes of apple and pear will fill the atmosphere.

The smell of some phenotypes leans more towards exotic fruits. Pineapple and melon are two other fruits that are often associated with Desfrán. Additional notes of caramel and honey make it really special and addictive! The taste of Desfrán is an exotic mix of pear and caramel with hints of grapefruit and melon, and a sour, fresh and spicy flavour on the exhale.

Desfrán is a true Sativa. This exceptionally flowering cannabis strain is derived from American and Asian Sativa landraces. It is a legendary cannabis strain that contains the same South American genetics as Destroyer, winner of numerous cannabis cups. It guarantees fast growing plants with a very large stretch. Its buds (foxtails) are very resinous and sticky. THC levels are generally around 20%, but can be slightly higher in some phenotypes.

Which genetics does Desfrán contain exactly?

Desfrán is a legendary South American strain, winner of numerous cannabis cups. Desfrán is the result of a cross between two Destroyer strains, whose origin is a triple cross of Mexican Oaxaca, Colombian Punto Rojo and Thai Meao. Dutch Passion owes this variety to the Argentinean Alberto, master breeder, cannabis expert and owner of Haze magazine. Following this first collaboration, we decided to introduce Desfrán in Europe.

Desfrán is a classic Sativa with fast growth and vigorous flowering. It has long buds that are ideal for growing in SOG or SCROG. The stretch of this tropical Sativa is significant during the flowering phase, and the buds are very rich in THC.

Desfrán is a fast-growing Sativa with long, thin leaves. Its growth and flowering phase is vigorous. After germination, it will fill your entire growing space very quickly.

During the vegetative phase, Desfrán requires little nutrients. It grows particularly well in potting soil that gives the root system plenty of room. But it also thrives in other growing methods. Thanks to its Sativa-like plant structure, Desfrán grows a lot and develops long branches that can quickly fill up your growing space.

If you rub the stem of the plant during the vegetative phase, you will smell an intense fruity aroma. Its stretch is so large that the plant can triple in size during the flowering phase. Desfrán is a resinous variety that is well suited to growing in SOG and SCROG. It generally has a flowering time of 9-10 weeks. However, some phenotypes can take up to 12 weeks to reach full maturity. Double (and even triple) internodal flowering is common.

The heads of Desfrán are generally dense and compact. When dry, they look like pine cones covered with frost. They are very sticky and powerful heads. Most of them are completely covered by a thick layer of trichomes. Most phenotypes make foxtails, which really gives a typical Sativa looking head. With proper care and lighting the buds will become compact and certainly not fluffy.

During the flowering phase the plants almost always triple in size due to the stretch of this Sativa. It is this very large stretch that makes it ideal for SCROG cultivation. It also shortens the pre-growth phase. This plant is also perfectly suited for fast SOG cultivation. It has a medium internodal distance, slender leaves and leaf fingers and an excellent flower to leaf ratio.
